PCS members in the civil service and non departmental public bodies are currently involved in a national dispute over jobs, pay and conditions. Many of us now face below inflation pay offers, serious threats of compulsory redundancy or relocation and the rising tide of privatisation.

Our Demands

So far hugely supported national one day strikes on 31 January and 1 May as well as various forms of action short of a strike and targeted action have proved to our employer how serious we are in campaigning to achieve our demands.

Members involved in the national dispute are now being balloted in a consultative ballot on whether we support the NEC's proposals for action aimed at resolving the dispute. The ballot opens on 28 September and closes on 22 October. If you’ve not received your ballot paper by 10 October call 020 7801 2850

HOWEVER YOU VOTE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU VOTE!!!!!

     LEAN - THE TRUTH!!

HMRC introduced LEAN methods of processing work some time ago, and the union has been in dispute ever since. Now     the Government appears committed to introducing this de-skilling methodology across other departments such as DVLA.       BEWARE - LEAN seriously damages you members health, as the three articles by Steve Lintern (a ULR rep in Llanishen,     Cardiff HMRC) attest. To view these excellent articles, merely click on the links (they open in Word). Life in the LEAN mean, Staff Reducing Machine ; Sadistic Statistics ; The truth about Change
